The first project was a living room and adjacent dining room.  A pastel yellow color was changed to a more modern, grey-based blue/green color.  The new color goes great with everything and really works with the existing historic wood trim.  We took a 25% ratio of the wall color and put that on the ceiling.  This allowed for the new crown moulding we installed (4 times the size of the previous moulding) to pop.  If we would have used a standard white on the ceiling the crown might have disappeared.

The second project was another living room and adjacent dining room.  Plain white walls and ceilings were painted bright, energetic colors.  Pastel blue trim was painted a sharp stark white.  A bold wallpaper pattern was used as an accent on a fireplace wall.  In the dining room a chair rail was installed allowing for two different colors (below and above) to be used.

There was substantial preparation needed on damaged plaster areas on peeling trim areas.  Definitely a transformation!

Here are before and after pictures of two projects we completed this exterior seasons.  Check out the pictures and the description of the projects.

The first one is a project on Church St. in downtown Historic Bethlehem.  It was a total repaint.  The paint on the front brick facade was totally removed.  We are grateful to the client for wanting to bring it back to its original look.  Everyone on the team is always excited to be working downtown.   The picture above is the BEFORE followed by two AFTERS below.

This second project is the epitome of total repaint.  Everything was re-painted: Stucco, trim, windows, doors and we replaced the shutters with new ones.  Total transformation.  The client did a great job of selecting new colors that gave their home a completely different look.   A stark white and pastel yellows was replaced with warm earth tones that blends into the surroundings.

Have us frame out your mirror with simple moulding and turn it into a work of art.  Joe Saksa, our resident artist,  painted this frame a rich gold and added a couple layers of glaze to give it a more antiqued look. 

We installed crown in the living room , crown and chair in the dining room to frame the rich color and door trim around three drywall doorways to give the three rooms some definition.

We painted the living room and kitchen areas more subdued, neutral colors, allowing the dining room to serve as an area to really show off.

We added a tile backsplash to the kitchen to complement their beautiful granite countertops.

These clients will be surely be proud this Thanksgiving when their friends and family are sharing dinner in these beautiful surroundings.

The kitchen before and after’s (completed in partnership with Stellar Stone) shows the amazing difference painting cabinets (instead of replacing) and new countertops can do.

We could do the same thing for you by Christmas.

The building houses the Artfully Elegant gallery (by the way I really encourage you to check it out).  Upon moving in, the owner of the gallery decided to cover over the 3-color scheme with a single off-white color.  Trust him: he is an artist.

Where the woodwork and surrounding brick façade used to blend together, the trim now pops, framing the aged brick façade and giving it a whole new look.

COMPLETED PROJECTS:

Allentown Historic Project

The 6th St. Project in Historic Allentown:

We started off with a bang.  What a neat building.  This project was a full exterior repaint with lots of wood prep.  It was a multiple color paint scheme that really popped out from the brick facade.

The colors selected were a more “grey” version of the previous colors.  And  don’t think grey is a bad thing.  It took the brightness out of the colors and  made them a bit more earthy, which worked well with the facade and slate roofing.

We lucked out with the weather on this one.  The early Spring months are usually unkind but we had some beautiful consecutive days that allowed the project to go smoothly.

The Church St. Maintenance Project:

When looking over this beautiful home during the estimate it was quite apparent to us that much of it was just fine.  The paint was holding up well and the colors hadn’t faded much.

However, it needed a good washing and some of the areas more susceptible to the weather needed some attention (window sills and trim, front door, some failures on high soffit areas, etc.).

So we proposed a maintenance project where only the crucial areas were worked on were able to match the colors up with color scanning.

The Victoria Square Aluminum Project:

Aluminum Siding Project

This is the quintessential aluminum siding project.  A great home in a great development needed a fresh look.  Working with the home owner we changed the look by lightening the eves, freshening up the siding and adding a new accent color.

Some people don’t know that aluminum can be painted.  But we have always had great success with these projects and they are much, much more economical then siding replacement.  The newest latex products bond incredibly well to these surfaces.

The Union Blvd. Historic Project:

They do not make them like this one anymore.   We were thrilled to get the chance to give this house a new appearance.  The previous trim color was a yellow and the shutters were a light blue.  They were nice but had a pastel undertone which didn’t do anything for the facade.  The new white color frames out the beautiful stone and the black shutters add to the classical feel.

This is a full wood trim repaint project.  I’ll send pictures of this when it is completed.

The Central Moravian Church Project:

To say we are excited about this one would be an understatement.  We will certainly keep you posted on this one (or you can drive by and honk… but not if we are on really high ladders).
